Bruxism is the clenching of the jaw and grinding of teeth which can generate 250psi when conscious and 900psi when asleep. These forces will definitely shatter teeth surfaces. Stress is believed to be the main cause of bruxism. People in high stress occupations such as the military have a high risk of suffering bruxism.
